An Integrative Approach
My journey to becoming a Psychologist started when I worked as a Registered Dietitian. I realized after working a few years in the field of Nutrition, just how vital it is to explore the relational and psychological components of a person to gain a comprehensive understanding of their eating behaviors. Food-related issues and weight-management can be a sensitive topic, and often times accompanied by guilt and shame. People's relationship with food is complex and unique to each individual, and ought to be met with compassion and understanding.
Whether it be concerns related to food or weight, or other issues that are causing distress, it is important to me that my clients feel valued, heard, understood, and empowered. My work experiences include helping people gain insight into their relationship with themselves and others, making achievable healthy lifestyle changes, exploring underlying issues fueling distress, and empowering people to find strategies for success. Typically I help those dealing with anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, emotional eating, weight concerns, ADHD, and life transitions.
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and meeting them right where they're at. I provide a free 15-minute consultation to those interested in seeing if we're a good fit. I am licensed in the states, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and provide online teletherapy services to adult individuals.
